About the Tournament
In the Early 1990’s, Lion Harry Moore and Michael Frank came up with the idea of a Golf Tournament as a philanthropic project for their Lions Club. Along with the help of two other members and many contractors around the Valley, the tournament became a huge success! Their philosophy was to offer a fun venue and low greens fees. The successful contributions came in the way of Raffles and Hole Sponsorships. In 2005, when Harry passed away, the club decided to name the tournament in his memory and “The Lion Harry Moore Memorial Golf Tournament” was started. Dawn stepped up and started to fill her Dad’s shoes. We worked closely with the club and in spite of the downturn of the economy, we did the best we could to continue Harry’s dream.
In 2010, Dawn and Michael contacted Lions Camp Tatiyee, one of Harry’s favorite State Lions Philanthropic projects, and they were ecstatic about the potential to help take the tournament to the next level.
Now the tournament hosts approximately 150 Golfers and Volunteers, who collectively raise substantial financial aid for this wonderful Camp for Special Needs in Lakeside, Arizona. We are proud to call the historic Arizona Biltmore Golf and Country Club our home. It is nestled in Central Phoenix at the base of the Camelback Mountains. Our Goal each year is to surpass the previous year’s attendance and contributions received. With your help we can do it!
